Four Die In Plane Crash

TheIndyChannel.com - News - Four Die In Plane Crash WABASH, Ind. -- A small plane crashed Saturday night, killing all four people on board.

Police said the plane went down just after 9 p.m. near West County Road 500 South in Wabash County.

The plane, 1967 Piper Cheyenne Six, was found in a bean field, police said.

Officials believe the plane's right wing first made contact with the ground. Then, the plane flipped over and caught fire.

The four passengers were identified as John Swan, of Wabash, Kathy Swan, of Wabash, James D. Swan, 25, of Wabash and Vanessa Baer, 22, of North Urbana.

The National Transportation Safety Board was investigating to determine a cause of the crash.

A lot going on here

It's the month of May, so I'll be at the track every chance I can get. Last weekend I got to hang out in the pits during qualifying. Good times.

Also worked on something while I was up in Indy. Hopefully soon I'll be able to announce what that is.

The Northfield Alumni Forums are officially open, so the word is starting to spread. Basically I just want a place where everyone could come (for free) instead of having to pay to see stuff at places like classmates.com. If we get most of our classmates registered at the site, it'll be a big benefit in planning class reunions in the future.

My only other news is it looks like I will be losing my job because of BRAC. Really not that big of deal to me. I'll find something else. It won't become official that we are losing jobs at Crane until the end of the year, then it could be anytime between 2006 and 2011 or so when my job would actually go away.

I'm back

I'm back home after a few days off. Some highlights of my time off: Leaving when there's no snow in Mitchell, Mitchell getting 20"+ of snow, but it all melting by the time I arrive back home. Matt and Neil doing snow angels in just their shorts and boots at night when it was probably around 6 degrees outside. Going to Christmas Eve Service when it was -14 degrees. Spilling the Communion crackers during the Christmas Eve service. Making a snowman that was at least 8.5 ft tall. Waking up at 1:30 am to help Dad fix a broken pipe in the well when it was 40 degrees outside (4 days after it had been -14 degrees). And once again running around the house barefooted with my cousins to bring in the new year (eventhough the wife, finance, and girlfriend who were there didn't join in on the fun )

I love a rainy night

Well, today started out really nice eventhough it was a little overcast, it was very warm, but now it has started to rain. I am still able to have all the windows open, so that is nice.Some of the flowers that Cheryl the Trout has planted when she lived here are starting to bloom. This is a view of some of them out the bay window in my computer room. first flowers.JPG Just finished watching Cup qualifying at Bristol. Man, 21 poles now for Newman. It's just unbelievable how fast he qualifies. I think my cousin Todd should be arriving sometime today for the weekend's race there. Tomorrow is the first race of the seaon at Brownstown Speedway. I've never been to Brownstown, but if the weather holds up, I think I might head over there. They are running Late Models, Bombers, Indiana Super Stocks, and UMP Modifieds.

It's a great day to be alive!

Wow, after a LOT of messing around, I finally got this movable type blog figured out. They really need to work on their instructions. They are very confusing. It took a lot of searching and a few emails between my self and crystaltech, but it's working. It's a beautiful day down here. 73 degrees on my way home from work today. It was so nice I decided to take a drive down to Williams, IN. It's really not that far from my house just a little west. I had tried to find it last summer, but I didn't know exactly where it was, and come to find out, I had just turned around a few miles before I would have been there.

Williams was quite the town. ;) I do have to say, I'm glad I finally saw the Williams Dam. Very scenic. Quite a few people were fishing today. There was also a place to go camping by the river. As to the town itself? Hmmm, I don't think I'll even comment. It looked worse than Lagro!

Well, we'll see how long I can go keeping this thing updated.
